I got it off the stand and on the table, got a good cross over pipe installed.
The injection came home today from the cleaning and the changing of the fuel line rubber hose. I got a clean band for the fan, now I m just waiting for the cam line reducers to get here. n Going to clean the transmission tomorrow and get it on the engine..Be putting this back in the red car by Saturday..with some luck.

Bruce

Well, I got the tranny cleaned off today, mostly road grime. The last things to do now is put the speed control body up on location after I get the engine sound deadner up on location.
Fresh trans fluid in from PP today along with the cam oil line reducers. If it rains the engine will be in tomorrow, if it doesnt rain, Honeydo list is posted...

Saturday..noon, its off the table and ready to set on the jack with the PP Carrera balance unit.
Carrera is up in the air for installing the engine and trans. Company came about 3pm and was able to hand me the bolts and ratchet.
Seems like I m fast to you but I m retired for years and I love the build.

It would have started earlier, I found that no matter how much I charged the battery I still need to plug in the 14 prong connector. With that resolved and realizing I needed to replace the fuel relay that was sitting on the seat, its running on all 6....

It jumped up on the road on its own power all the way to 5000 for a second. The last time I drove it, the heads were loose and all it did off idle is pop pop.
On top of the drive way on its own power.

We have to change the alternator, there is squeel in the one we have on the engine. We drove it up and sown the street to bring the temp up, runs better than the friends 88, so he says.
Did the compression, 175+ to 183 all around. Cant ask for anything better.

Another one saved! Well done Bruce.

I sub'd all of your threads as you're a talented guy that does nice-detailed oriented work on our beloved aircooled 911s. I look forward to the next project!

Cheers

Awesome thread Bruce!

After a couple years of 964 ownership, I'm getting more and more comfortable working on my car, but I'm reaching the limit at what I feel comfortable with. I really wish I knew someone like you in my neighborhood. I need a mentor, anyone with Bruce's skill live near Chapel Hill, NC? I'm interested in every aspect of the car, so feel free to send me a message if you need extra hands?
