Identifying a 911 engine
I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I would appreciate some help in identifying a 911 engine. I've attached some images and serial numbers. Any info and/or insight would be great. The photo is a little fuzzy but the SN is 6669079.Thanks!

6669079 would be a 1976 3.0L case. The type stamp on the case should be 930/02. That's a very nice case to have.

The first two years of the 3.0 Turbo and 3.0 Carrera engine case used the same main bearing OD size as the earlier 2.0, 2.4, 2.7. This allows you to install the early 66 mm stroke crankshaft. The combination of the 66 mm stroke and 95 mm bore gives you the starting point for the popular 2.8 short stroke engine. The case alone IMHO is worth $2000 plus.

Hey Mark, I can't thank you enough for the info. I reinspected the engine and it is stamped 930/12. Is the difference significant? Thanks again!
