Pull dist out of 964

I'm going to EFI with my 964 engine and I want to pull the disty and rotor
assembly.

I've removed the single bolt that holds it as well as the allen bolt between
the pair --

but the disty will not budge. Wayne's book just says to remove the one
bolt and it pulls right out. ---

I've had the crank at different points of rotation -- and tried with no luck

but at the moment I've got the flywheel locked and one set of heads off.

any ideas?

thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

There is an o-ring that seals it but the only physical retraint is that single nut.

Have you tried giving it a gentle lever?

Be careful though as others have damaged the dizzy casing if getting too physical with it and they're mega $$$

Had the same issue when removed mine on my 930. Gentle hits with a rubber hammer up-wards and some WD-40 down the hole helped me. Not a lot of room there I know

Hadn't been that brave yet :-)

I'll give it a little more persuasion the next time I'm out at the shop working on the engine.
