Need help! Alternator ground strap
I'm reinstalling my alternator and fan. All the alternator leads go through the grey air deflector and easily connect the alternator. The book says the braided ground strap from the case goes with the brown (ground) alternator wire. However, the braided ground strap is way to short to go through the grey air deflector and then to the brown wire connector. My vague memory thinks the braided strap was connected to one of the bolts on the alternator housing. Is this sufficient grounding??,
![]() Thanks for your help as my reinstall is now delayed. Dave |

Generally the short braided ground is used the ground the housing. It should be attached to one of the perimeter 6mm studs that mount the air deflector.
