				Seal Install Damage?

Did I just damage this seal installing it into the No. 8 nose bearing? Or is it common and OK that some of the rubber ribs caught and cut on the outer surface?

It's very common. The install is not perfect but you should be fine. Next time use Dow o-ring lubricant on the outside of the seal.

If it worry you and will second guess yourself until the rebuild is finish, $15 for a new one is a good investment
