Start up problem after Rebuild 3.6L

Here is what I did after the engine was installed:

Disconnect ignition and fuel pump
Cranked unti oilpressure build up.
Connect ignition and Fuelump. Fuel pressure car not running 4 bar
Started up, it run a few secons and stopped after making the noice, see video.

Now the engine starts fires, and dies right away.

I'm glad I put the camera there, I won't know how to expain the noice. I checked everything, all connections, etc. What could this be ?

Sounds like some electrical, maybe a fuse?
Do you get power to ECU and fuel pump?

Is there a "cold start" circuit that would allow the engine to run for those 10 - 15 seconds...and then switch over to the regular circuit which is not working correctly and stops the engine?
Just my thought.

Check power on the fuel pump circuit during cranking. Some terminals in the fuse box lose power during cranking.

Edit... Saw the video I don't think my suggestion is right.

Last Weekend I started to remove the intake system. I noticed that gas was standing in the intake # 4

I turned the engine and noticed that the valve would not move. I removed the valve cover for Cyl 4-6 and found this.

OK, engine comes out again.

Remove all valve covers left side looks OK. Right side looks like this.
All Rockers are broken.

Remove the timing chain cover, and the right side looks like this. The bold was loose and the sprocket came off. :? I'm sure I torqued the bold. :?

The flange lost 5 teeth. I just found 3 of them.

Why did the rockers brake ?

I took of the cam housing and heads. Now I can see slight signs of contact of valve on the pistons.

The heads look OK.

Here are some pictures of the pieces

Looks like I have all parts to put it back together.

The only thing what makes no sense why cam the bolt loose ?

After closer inspection, the intake valves are bend bend, I did not even see it. I pored some thinner in the combustion camber and there was not leaking at the exhaust side, however on the intake side it was seeping thru just a little.

I removed the valve and did a blue check and found them slightly bend. So I'm getting 3 new intake valves. Exhaust valves look good, however, I'm also replace them. All other part I have. So next weekend I hope to get it back together.

Sorry to hear about the issues..... I am shocked to see the rockers broken and only slightly bent valves.

Are the valve guides ok? Have you found all the pieces of the broken gear?

Hate to see you go through all this again to find more fragments make its way into other parts of the engine...

Got it back together, and did a few miles. Everything looks good. Will take it out tomorrow and put more miles on it. I plan to drive it at least 200 miles bafore I put it on the dyno.

Here is the video when I started it up.

Wow, that is bad. Is it possible that you had the cam timing for the right side (4,5,6) set incorrectly, resulting in valve/piston interference?

Your 2nd start up video sounds very nice. Whatever the problem was...you fixed it.
regards,
Al

I did total of ove 80 miles last weekend. So far everything looks good. This time I Installed the sprocket bolts with Loctite, and torqued it 3 times, just to be sure. I'm sure the timing was OK when I started it the first time, until it snapped.

Cheers
Engelbert
