How do I remove this

What tool do you use to loosen/tighten this linkage connection bolt on a weber? Its smooth and I can figure out how to grab it to loosen it. I had it posted in the tech forum but i should have tried here i guess.

thks

Is it screwed in or pressed in?
If screwed...possibly a strap wrench might work.
For a press in pin...a shaft gripper (like a socket with inward moving grips) and a slide hammer would work.

My first instict would be to not remove it. Do what ever work you are doing with it installed. If I had to remove it I'd grab it with a pair of vise grips, use some scrap aluminum to cushin the jaws so they don't scratch and dent the shaft. To break it loose I'd heat the base with a propane torch. This will expand the magnesium and loosen any locktite.

Shaft

Warm up the manifold and it will slide right out, to reinstall heat and a drop of green loctite

Is that a theoretical question or an admission of guilt?

Give PMO a call, as I think this rod is included in their MFI linkage kit? See picture at bottom of page- looks like the shaft is next to the manifold spacers

PMO High Performance Porsche 911 Carburetion

I suspect Richard would have no problem getting you just the shaft alone.
