			Does anyone have a source to get bearings that are one over sized (.25mm inner diameter).  Need them for the crank and rods.  The ones I have found are close to $1000.

			You are not missing anything,....no aftermarket sources for O/S rod & main bearings for the 2.7's & smaller engines. 
		
	
		
	
			
			
		
		
		
		
		
			This is why we machine the cases when they need O/S mains.

			Parts are parts...size is all that matters. I found a set of points one time that fit a Massey Ferguson tractor....and used them in my MG....same size...same screw holes. Don't be afraid to look into alternate sources. Check the dimensions of the part you need...and find a transposition catalogue (used to be a staple item at auto wreckers). Perhaps you will be the one to crack the money/part cost problem we all have! Bob

	That's the path I am going down. Strange how a 30 lb crank can cost less than .25 lb's of simple curved metal. My machine shop has a crank from a 2.7 that is standard for $500. Anyone want a perfeclty good one over crank ;-) I am assuming the 2.7 crank is exactly the same as my 2.4 Chris 73 911 E  |
