The barrels look to be Carrera. What does it say inside the piston?

3.0L turbo application? Meaning, 3.0L 930 engine (1975-1977), not a 3.0L SC turbo conversion. But maybe that could be it too. Reason I say turbo is because those flat top pistons are going to be low compression.

The 76/77 turbo used a sealing CE ring and I dont think they had that much of valve wink.
Really need the number inside the piston, like 95L67 and that would tell us if its a Mahle and application. Bruce |

If we could see the inside of the piston it might tells us more.
Your Ruff idea is a good one except I don't believe Ruff build a 95mm turbo. My guess is a 935/ IMSA 962 piston in a 3.2 Carrera cylinder.

If you'd like I'll take one over to Gunnar Porsche and show it to Kevin. If it's a 935 or 962 piston he'll know.
They should be back from the Monterey historics soon. I'm curious what they are too. |

The squiggly line is for "toward the flywheel" because the winks are so close to the same size.
1 represents the size, should be on the barrel too along with delta deck height. Cylinder is a standard Mahle Bruce |

The "squiggly line" (this way towards the flywheel) is there to tell you that the wrist pin is offset.
