floor jack that fits my engine adapter?
I have an engine adapter that I bought here on the bird board.
My old jack died and my new jack doesnt have a big enough hole to use the adapter plate. Where can I get a jack with the older style big hole so I can use the adapter plate. |

Look aroound or pay more for the removable base. I bought a floor jack in 2010 and it doesnt have a removable base...but it works on everything else so I still use the old ones but realize the next time I need one, it has to have the removable base.

I made the post on the pelican adapter smaller using a grinder and file. Fits the HF jack with the screw type adjustable base. (after removing the keeper on the screw threads so it comes off). Drilled and tapped a 1/4 bolt in the flat area of the base to secure it.
Works great and I can still use the original adjustable height piece. Last edited by timmy2; 10-06-2013 at 09:46 AM.. |

I ran into that problem with the engine adapter that I made. The pin I used was for the jack I had at the time. Each time I get a different jack, I have to go through the ritual of grinding off my pin and turning a new pin on the lathe to fit the new jack.
Sorry to hear your old jack died. Are you pulling your engine out again?

I bought one in the last couple of years at Sears that had the right size hole. It was the only one I could find in town.
