3.2 Tin Question

I did a test assembly of my engine tin this evening and discovered this.
FYI, the right side in the pic is from an earlier motor, SC I think.
My original was rusted to hell.
These two pieces should connect, shouldn't they?
Am I missing a small piece for the centre?

Thanks

I dug up the pics from the engine drop and found this.
Problem is, I can't remember taking it off or where it went.
What the heck is it?

Probably attached to your wiring harness?

Funny, that's the first place I looked.
The harness has the pass through to go to the starter, and the connection for the oil temp sender, but nothing that looks like the mystery part in the pic.

The TDC sensor isnt used and it does connect to the fuel injection near the gold aircontrol valve. If you cant find it, dont worry about it.

What Bruce said. That thing is a diagnostic sensor that is passive. Meaning you have to activate it with a plug-in tool to use it. That plug Bruce mentioned is underneath the idle stabilizer valve cylinder and has a rubber cap on it. All the years i've fiddled with these cars and discussed them on the forums, I can't recall anybody ever wanting or trying to use it!

I wondered about this myself when I was taking my motor apart. What does one use the TDC sensor for?

Not, related but what is the purpose of the black sender pointing at 45' on first pic?
