Another 930 Engine Conversion
This conversion report is a good possibility to introduce myself and my Car.
I drive the car for 14 years it`s black / black with RUF Wheels It`s a 87-er. 930 with 4-Speed Transmission before beginning the conversion was all original. It`s not the first conversion and rebuilding on this Car, but now i start from zero. The Transmission I have revised five years ago and the Suspension 2 years ago. 2 piston rings and 1 oil scraper ring were broken, it was not easy to get new one`s. there are 2 different versions of the 3.4 liter set. only RUF in Germany had new one. Please tell why you made the cut-outs in the cylinders.
I know why we did it on two-stroke engines, but gather this is not the same. |
That's a classic tuning procedure (boattailing) to relieve gas exchange or breathing between the cylinders and the crankcase (volume below the piston). According Bruce Anderson 10 more hp for a 2 liter engine. This needs also machining the crankcase like this which correspond (red) to the slots in the cylinders:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1406028716.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1406029359.jpg I do not have seen any dyno to proof, but because I don't see any downside except the work it's worth a try |
