Unmarked replacement case value
Hi all, looking to get some idea of value on a replacement crankcase from a 71T with 44K miles on it. I believe it's a mag case. Engine is unmarked with serials or model code so this could be used on an e or s, correct? Assume value after being addressed by a quality machine shop.
Thanks! |

Make sure it is not a 914-6 case where the numbers are stamped near the breather hole.

Can't comment on value, but my 930 case for my project is a brand new, no serial number case. I picked it up on Evil Bay for $1000 a few years back, guy just wanted to get rid of it.
Porsche apparently does sell them separately..... Dennis |

With the presence of CNC...lasers...3D printing...etc.
Has anyone ever made a "new" billet case? Just a thought. You could make it out of the very best of alloys. It could have improvements like bigger oil passages...better supported studs and cylinders....maybe a tongue and groove mating flange with an O-ring for sealing. Cost?...meh Fun thinking stuff. Bob
