Any good ever come from MotorMeister

Please forgive me for asking as I know all about the plethora of posts about bad experiences with MotorMeister. My question is for all members but specifically for the professional engine builders here. Has anything good ever come out of MotorMeister? I was pursuing a 911 with a fresh motor and transmission but as conversation continued I learned that the work was completed by MotorMeister. Do I just turn and run or do I spend some time/money giving the car a real chance? I appreciate everyone's input on this matter. I would rather not get into specifics for the current owner's sake but if you would like specific information please PM me so we can discuss without it being in open forum.

Thank you,
Dustin

Run, run, run!!!!

They shut down, opened as a new place, and have been ripping folks off again.

The stuff they build is garbage! There's story after story here of folks pulling their engines apart finding out they never put in the parts they bought. Also those have found used parts in place of new parts.

I had a customer buy a car with a fresh Motorsheister motor in it. No compression cylinder #5 among other issues. Required full rebuild. Heads had not been done etc. Just walk away or expect that the motor needs to be gone through.

You asked for a professional engine builder to chime in... I'm not one of those. But, I think you'll need one. I doubt the guys at MM ever looked around one day and said "Heck, let's do this right for a change." Nobody can tell you what's inside that engine. It may be good for 100k miles based on luck of the draw but the chances are slim. So, if you do pursue the car, price it as if the engine were only a core. The owner is going to have to eat the price MM charged him for choosing to be a cheap ba$tard.

Your odds are very slim. Plus, with the rising cost of parts on these cars, given the crazy air cooled 911 price escalation in recent years, a quality engine and trans rebuild can easily exceed the cost of a strongly discounted car.

I'm of the opinion you'd be better off with a well used car that's in need of some rebuild work down the road vs. taking a risk on a MM ticking time bomb. The stuff you've read is real. They have made an art out of taking people's money and providing garbage in return. Trust your gut on this one and look elsewhere

Two thoughts:
1. What is the name of the Company MM is now operating as so I am never tempted to ever even look at them for anything at all.
2. Look at the car and just factor a total rebuild of the engine into the offer price. I don't care if it currently runs or not.

Good luck.

Back in the day when no one could warn a brother quick enough brings us forward to the present.

The power of today's internet brings us the power of Yelp:

Boy you sure can tell the difference between the actual reviews and the ones who were paid.

I pray everyone looking for work to be done on their Porsche, or any other car for that matter, does their due diligence and searches the shop/company on-line first. Hopefully then, butt holes like this POS MotorMesiter and German Auto, or whatever he calls himself today, will be run out of business. I wish some hard hitting thugs with baseball bats would go visit him.

Notice how people have responded to the yelp ratings. One stars got a lot of "helpfuls". Five stars, not so much. Also, the five stars all come from people with no automotive knowledge. The old "if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull$hit" is alive and well in Jerry's new business.

Isn't it time for Jerry or one of his cronies to post some ridiculous BS on this thread? You know catfish or catturd or whatever spouting off.
