Is a 3.0 930 oil pump interchangeable with a 3.3 930

Hi guys
Just wondering if anybody can assist with this question.

They are interchangable but the 3.0 turbo pump is merely a 4 bar pump, too small as we have seen with the 3.2 which uses the same basic pump.

You will need to clearance fit the pump in the 3.0 case and use the shorter 3.3 drive shaft to the intermediate shaft.

Is the article number of the shaft mentioned above 93010714300?

I'm planning on putting a 3,3L pump in a 1978 SC case. As far as I understand this does not require modifying the case, correct? All I need is the shaft ref above and a sump plate accommodating the strainer on the new pump?

Johan,

You do indeed need to clearance the case webbing in a 3.0L SC case in order to fit a 3.3L 930 pump.

That part number you provided is the original number, which has since been superseded to 93010714303

Fortunately, clearancing the case is not that hard to do. You can saw off part of what you need to remove, and use a die grinder to finish the job. Of course, a mill will do a nicer looking job.
