Case perimeter stud installation

How can I determine if I have the correct stud for installing into the case perimeter of my 1978 SC case.

One is missing and Im hoping to be sure I have a correct replacement. Does anyone know the measurements of the stud? I know its an M8 x 1.25, but not sure of the total length, and where does the non-threaded portion need to sit?

I have several boards with stud length and location but I have made them as visual templates.
Photo of location and engine code and I can give you a length.
Note: most upper and lower studs are the same length.

My 3.0 SC Perimeter Fasteners.

Of the (22) locations on the perimeter, how many/which one are missing studs?

Per the picture
WHITE: (19) studs on RHS,
YELLOW: (2) studs mounted on LHS
RED: (1) bolt near the bottom front of the engine.

The #6 stud is one of thirteen that are M8x32. 32mm is the overall length, not length sticking out after it's installed. I have a bunch of junk camshaft housings that i've pulled the studs from. The lower valve cover studs are M8x35 and I have a bunch of them if you would like me to send one or a few or however many you want. No charge.

The #17 bolt is nothing special M8x45 length and a common 8.8 property class/strength. This should be easy to get at your local hardware store. I've found that Ace Hardware stores have a pretty good selection of basic metric bolts like these.

Thanks, Kevin!

Im going to measure some studs I found around the shop. Can I use Loctite 574 to install them?

just measured and #4 and #5 were total/exposed 49/32.3mm and #7 52/35.3mm

I found a stud for #6 that's about the right fit.

and some Permatex red high strength thread locker.

You have a full nut, you're not going to get any more hold. The only one that needs to be longer is the ground wire attaches on #4.

Sorry I got my measurements incorrect about overall length vs. operable length. Red loctite isn't necessary but it's not going to hurt anything. All of the studs are held in place with a low strength threadlocker that doesn't require heat or a ton of effort to remove the studs.

Just make your own ground wire (if you no longer have yours) with a thick gauge wire and some crimp on eyelets. Then you can make the ground wire go to whichever stud works for you.

Use high quality marine grade wire and eyelets crimped on the ends if you can. The quality is way better than generic auto parts stuff.
