HArd cross over oil line issue

Hey Gents

As part of my rebuild I got an aftermarket hardline that goes from the engine case and fastens on to the passenger side timing chain box.
Well the one I got has no bracket to fasten to the timing box. Not a big deal as I can put on a clamp easy enough, but when I went to install it I realized it is not even close the the bottom of the timing box , although its close when overlayed on the other pipe I realized im a good two inches towards the back of the car. Anyone ever run into this ? I was just going to go to a pipe bender guy and ask him to bend it in a little more as the oil connection is a mid air connection anyway. I think currently it might not even reach my oil coupler in the car .

Any thoughts ?

okay did a little more research and realized my mistake .. I ordeed the wrong on .. I ordered the turbo one by accident .. gonna see if I can bend it a little more and use it if it doesn't interfere anywhere.

The turbo pipe that you bought has a bend around the kidney of the turbo. The pipe from right corner to the thermostat should be the same as the SC and turbo that drops a rubber hose at about 45 degrees to the new connecting pipe.

Thanks Bruce , it looks close but when I bolted it on it sticks out behind the timing cover by about 2 inches , im thinking a bit more bend is in order .I wll try and post a pic.

There is a lot of lever there, be careful not to crimp it

I'm going to try and use a conduit bender and some heat. What could possibly go wrong

I figured I have the old one as a backup

I little bending is in order for this line ? im thinking it should line up with the timing chain case .

where did your exhaust studs go?

Watching this thread, as I have seen these issues before.

Cut & weld and then re-plate has been my method when these oil pipes do not fit.

update .

I did a test fit ( and glad I did ) . The reason the pipe does not come close to the timing cover is because the initial bend out of the case is not correct. the reason I know this is the pipe hits the heat exchanger when I install it . I either cant install the pipe. of the exchanger on the side where the pipe goes into the case. If the pipe took a true 90 degree angle where it came out of the case it would not interfere with the exchanger and be tucked more so it would align with the exchanger.

I attached a pic but i'm not sure if the pic shows its not quite at 90 degrees.

My buddy is going to re-weld the bracket that broke off my original pipe and i'm just going to use that . I might take this pipe to a hydraulic shop and see if they can bend it a little more at that point. Nothing to lose at this point, and i'm just curious as to whether I can get it to fit.

You could also just have a flexible line made up at a hydraulic shop.
