2.7 CIS on 3.0 SC
Hello All,
I am restoring a 1975 Porsche 911S and I am looking what to do with the engine. I have a 2.7 1974 engine (150hp) complete with CIS en exhaust system what came out of the car. I have also a 3.0 Sc (930/06) engine with a 3.2 injection system I think. THere is no rekords available from the 2.7 but it is leaking oil. As I want to use the 3.0 sc engine but cannot use the 3.2 injection system, is it possible to fit the 2.7 cis on the 3.0 engine? (I have looked for a 3.0 CIS but I have to pay a few thousand dollars)

The 2.7 injection will run the 3.0.
There will be a point where you will run out of acceleration because your throttle body throat really needs to be from a 78/79 CIS system. Then get the proper fuel distributor and you lol be in pretty good shape. Bruce |

Sell both of those engines. You can probably get around $10k combined. Then, source a nicely rebuilt 3.2.

Yes, I agree, selling both engines and buy a 3.2 is the best option, but due to lack of funds it is not an option for now.
I was thinking of using the 3.0 engine with the 3.2 injection. I only would have to source a DME unit incl. wiring harness and fuel pump and filter, is this correct? are there any advantages / disadvanteges of running a 3.2 injection on a 3.0 sc engine? maybe running to rich? I am located in the Netherlands, europe. The prices for spare parts etc. are very high here, even in Germany. Lowest prices for engines like a 3.0 sc are around 13000 usd for an incompleet, no history included engine. |

The 3.2 injection will need flywheel sensor bosses which aren't there.

Yes, now it's a 3.2 or a late 3.0 from late 83 production.
