Connecting rod bolts torque
Hello all,
I have a 1978 911 sc I'm ready to torque my connecting rod nuts to the crank shaft but I'm not sure if it's: 1. Torque bolts to 14.7 lbs 2. 90 degree Or 1. Torque bolts to 14.7 lbs 2. 90 degree 3. Another 90 degree Thank you |

Per Porsche Tech Manual for a 3.2
M10 X 1.25 = 20Nm plus (1) 90 degree torque angle ( +/-2 degrees ) But please wait for someone with your year to confirm. Credit to KTL for sharing the info.

Specify what type of Conrod bolts......
Quote:
Frank, Nobody would be able to advise what torque value you would need without knowing the kind or type of rod bolts you are using. Porsche OEM rod bolts? ARP? Raceware? Etc. Please be more specific. Thanks. Tony |

Aftermarket would definitely have their specific torque requirements. At least the ones I bought. :-o

Manual is not up to date... Depending on bolts (BTW I would change 30years old ones)

The above Technical bulletin is NOT applicable to your rod bolts. This if for updated 3.2/3.3/3.6 bolts which are 9mm. Your rod bolts are 10mm. Ignore the bulletin.
