Anyone used ARP through case bolts?
Has anyone out there used ARP through case bolts on their rebuild? Worth the effort? Will they change the clamping force? Expansion rate the same when hot?
Am I thinking too much? 930 twin turbo, big HP, race only. Thanks, Dave T |

Anything that comes from ARP is going to be a superior product to OEM, but priced accordingly. This is one area, however, where I feel the OEM fine thread case bolts are sufficient to clamp down on the mains and keep the whole shebang together.
For this application, not seeing a big difference. |

My engine builder replaced that one bolt with an ARP bolt when he fixed it. When the engine was rebuilt, all the through bolts were replaced with ARP bolts. I don't think you are thinking too much!!!

Point taken, however I think a lot depends on the condition of the factory bolt as well, especially when racing.
Arp bolts are $1300 or something. Lots of dough.... |

It was a brand new Factory through bolt. ARP through bolts would have saved me quite a bit more than $1300.

I have ARP thru bolts on my 2.6L type 4 engine in my '67 bug.
At 180hp NA it's not the same animal, only thing I can help you with is I've not had any issues.

If there weren't issues, there would be no demand for an ARP part.

Stuff on these engines are only getting older and nothing lasts forever.
Unfortunately the price on the ARP thru-bolt kit has nearly doubled. I bought my set for ~$700 about 4 years ago thru TH Motorsports.
