How did they check the heater core? Did they pressure check the cooling system?

If you have coolant getting into the cabin, you have to have a leak at the heater core, or the heater valve, or the line between them. I have not fooled with the heater valve on my e46 and I don't recall noticing where it is.

The usual cause of failure to heat is air in the system.
