M6 Not Idling Properly
I have an 87 M6. When the engine is warm and I rev the engine over about 3500 rpm and release the throttle it is very slow to return to idle sometimes. this problem is intermittent.
I am almost certain that the accelerator cable and the throttle linkage are not to blame because I have gotten the motor to do this after I had seeen the throttle linkage return to the idle position. It seems to do it the most when I am revving the motor fairly hard. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Chris |

Check all your vacuum lines, sounds like you may have a leak somewhere, allowing more air to enter the engine, and keep the idle up.
Youmay also want to inspect/clean your idle control valve. It may be sticking, clogged or need adjustment... |
