The station identification LED screen on my BMW brand tape deck/radio console is only readable under direct light, i.e. sunlight or a flashlight during darkness. Any recommendations on how to fix this, swap it out or where to get a replacement part, if any, for this?

Its common. I dont know of a fix, best bet is to buy a new radio.
Mines been out for a year and the new radio has finally made it to the top of my list.

It is common no doubt, there is one place that says they can fix the problem, maybe it's worth a call. Don't know about them but they do contact all the dealers and offer their services. Fast Track Electronics, 866-396-7781.

It happened to me too. Called the dealer, and they said you have to replaced the radio. There's no way just fix the LED screen.

Mine sometimes fades out. A slight rap on the side of the radio sometimes works. I searched for a fix to this problem, and found this thread:
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=251722 I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to be very thorough. Hope it works. |
