Day 20 cont.-

The other must stop for me is Diablo Dam. One of the few dams you can still drive across since 9/11. Beautiful setting and I love the Art Deco era style-

Plus free motorcycle only parking-

The last stop and pics from the trip, Gorge Creek Falls. Ralf does look like he is enjoying himself. I just noticed the thumbs up which would be for the trip overall-

Thanks for coming along for the ride. Doing this report lets me relive and enjoy the trip again.

Flatty-

Any time. The year You and Richard came to TOR was still the best.

A few final details.

Seattle to San Diego-1702 miles
San Diego to Paonia-1582 miles
Lands End day ride-141 miles
Paonia to Seattle-2190 miles
Total is 5615 miles for me.

After we had no luck finding a new rear sprocket for Ralf's bike we spent the rest of the day running around Seattle being tourists.

Borrowed the wife's car-

Went to Seattle Center where I used to work. Big kid at play-

Ralf's Sprocket at my house-

500 miles later-

My windshield bracket that got warrantied after the dealer owner got involved. Service manager was very dickish-

After three weeks in the shop and many phone calls to Honda, the warranty claim for my front forks with an increasing stiction problem got turned down three times. I ended up paying $400 for the inspection and reassembly. Pissed enough at Honda but love the bike so I am buying aftermarket forks and shock.

Photos that got left out for some reason-

Showing my fashion sense at the sand dunes-

Don't know what I was thinking when Ralf snapped this one-

On the trail, not much of one-

A well presented report on the journey you two made. The photos and background information are to be praised. Thank you for taking us all along. Is another such ride in the offing next year? I hope so.

The plan is to get to TOR through the Canadian Rockies next year. R & R go international.

That's a great shot of the sprocket! I was worried about mine on our last trip also, but I'm still able to ride with it for another month.

Cheers

PS......Ralph could have gotten a few more miles out of that sprocket if he turned it around!

Cheers

Thanks Rick. I always look forward to your TOR recap and am continually envious of your ability to not only stop and take pics but then remember where/what's in them months later. Looking forward to the R & R international tour next year... I doubt I'll be able to get away to TOR again any time soon but glad I did years ago.

I think it is fairly safe to say that you made it to one f the better ones, as far as the rally goes.

A few more pictures...

Sometimes, visitors show up for dinner...

....which is OK, because, really, Love is everywhere!

Sometimes, one just has to stop and marvel...

...or take marvelous pictures.

Forgotten.

Does this bike look big on him?

Well... it's not really that words could add anything here.

Perspective...

Would the real Bessie please stand up?

Easily your best report yet Rick!
Photography and locations excellent.

Ralf has a famous underwear emporium ... no? I think I have a picture somewhere!

I always thought these threads were Rick's way of recording his maintenance, and repairs.

I don't know what else I can do. I started with a new bike this year. I not going to, you know, drive a jeep or something.

What could cause the sprocket to wear like that? Hey Ralf maybe you can sharpen those teeth and use it in a table saw!

A table saw blade would have given me more security...
