Broken Front Frame Support Tab

Unfortunately I dropped my bike in the garage. After quickly picking it back up I took it for a short ride and found that the whole front end was bouncing. I concluded that I had broken the small frame tab where the front assembly attaches. Not really angry about it but more frustrated. Also cracked the fork stop tab.

I really wanted to use my new mig welder but after a few practice runs on another piece of cast aluminum I decided it wasn't going to be good enough. Later this week I'll take it to my friends to have it tig welded.

Anyone else broke this tab before?

I broke the rear ones when a wind storm in New Mexico blew mine over fully loaded with camping gear, 10 years ago. Found a local shop with a spool gun that repaired it and beefed it up a little. Has done fine.

If you need a good front subframe with clear title, I have 1 now, soon to be 2...

This part of the frame doesn’t carry the vin number.

Just welded it up tonight. Going paint and install in the morning.

Mine does, lost all of my vin plates on the rear subframe, so I added a vin plate to mine so I could title it in my new state....

Nice welding, better than mine...
