O2 sensor question
In anticipation of my Laser Cat. Elim. coming in the mail tomorrow, I took things apart tonight. The O2 sensor was covered with a lot of brown/black soot. I assume the working part is inside what I am looking at on the sensor. Should it be clean/cleaned or leave it alone and screw it in the new pipe?
I have replaced them in my car before and they were not this coated. RB |

Mine was coated the same and I just put it back in, after liberally spreading anti-seeze all over it as I placed it back in (wipe off and try again
 ), I hope mine is still working OK.I do notice that if a blip the throttle too much on the down shift that it sometimes tries to stall, I wonder what that is all about  Tom.

just re antiseize the threads, lightly, and replace.
It should be fine
