Cool It's not my fault...

I couldn't help myself.

Mid-range feels quite a bit stronger than my S, although it seems to run out sooner close to redline.

Congrats! Bob. Love that GS. Test rode one for 4 hours back in July. Didn't want to return it. Courtesy of BMW of Manhattan.

First chance I get...

Craig I think if you rode it you would get it. This is my first "adventure" kinda bike and I've kinda been looking at them but just couldn't see it. Still looks funky to me. BUT....I rode it and it just may be the best all round bike in the world. I know that it's the best all round bike I've ever ridden. I decided....for all the funky this and that, it's just too good a motorcycle not to have.
So....ride it...whack it...take it to the twisties....get it dirty....I think you'll get it.
PS.....this is not really a dirt bike I don't think. I heavily considered the KTM 950, which has more dirt capability and a motor with heart....kinda like a Ducati....something that'll make you smile. But....I wanted something good everywhere...doesn't have to be great anywhere...this is it.

RM250, 2004 model, two stroke POWER!

60HP for 90kg, how's that for a power to weight ratio!

Now if only I could keep the front down while launchin' that thing!

I'm sure you are right Bob...I hear too many good things about them. Maybe I'm just afraid to find out how good they are...I'm a sucker for temptation.

Congrats Bob, use it in good health! I was considering trading my S in for a new GS but having bought my 1150 Adventurer just last March I can't justify it. I was considering the same color too! Nice looking ride! BMWON magazine has a photo of one being leaned over, way over at the track! Enjoy it!

Beautiful bike! I must admit, when I bought my S it was a totally impulsive act (well, as impulsive as an act can be when you've been lusting after something for so many years). Had I waited until I had cooled off, and had I done some more research, I think I may have gone for the GS.

Regrets? No way! However, seeing that pic makes me think of what might have been. Enjoy!

>Nice bike but......I just don't get it.

I havta agree - rode one ( well, a 2003 Adventure ) and found it to be tippy, loosey goosey feeling, and very disconnected from the motor - no confidence here. It had knobbies and spoke wheels.
That being said, the guy who owns it, also owns my ass when we ride on tight technical roads - I need a larger wider two lane to pass...

I rather have my S.

jeff
...well, it *looks* cooler...
