Roger, I need your input
Roger,
Can you confirm something for me? RE: the '74 r90\6. The folks at Hamersley tell me it is impossible to get a part for the final drive. It is the race that sits on top of the pinion gear. In this diagram, the needle bearing the race goes into is depicted by the #10. ![]() Are you familiar with this race? Can you confirm or deny this rumor? Do you have another source for parts? Do you have one laying around?

They are tough to find.
You basically need to part an old rear drive. I"ll have to look around, but I'm in the middle of a big garage/shed move, so everythings boxed up right now. May take a week or so before I can find if I have one. I can confirm they seem to be NLA from dealers.

They normally never die, so no ever replaced them, so dealers never ordered them in any qty, so the factory quick making them, so they're NLA. Happens with parts that don't often fail, unfortunately.

![]() Wish I could say that had never happened to me. Alls we can hope for is that not too many of those are too expensive.

Now on to the switch gear and a bunch of obsolete rubber tidbits. One day Roger, one day.

Hey Shannon;
I will also ask a few people if they have one you may have to buy a complete Final drive.

You should be able to get the rubber for the switchgear at Bob's BMW. They're a great source for airhead parts and if they have 'em in stock you'll have 'em in 2 days. Bucky is very helpful in finding the hard to find stuff or coming up with good substitutions where applicable. Download the catalog, it's an excellent source of good info.
