Who says Rapid Dog can't learn a new trick?
Rapido got all warm and fuzzy when he saw my friend Pete's '04 RT at Laguna Seca last month. Pete wants to get an R1200RT soon, so was looking to sell it. A few weeks later...
 She has a new daddy...  Gonna need barbacks, right?  So, yesterday I showed Rapido the local twisties, and he was digging the new couch right off. Wanting to take Hwy 1 home, I suggested the Dog get a good meal in his belly for the long ride home. Suggesting he take Hwy 35 & 9 to the coast, I offered my S-cort services. Stuffed and ready to hit the road...  After cutting the Dog loose near Santa Cruz, I headed back up the hill...

The fork in the road from where I left you Steve, ended up in Santa Cruz but I got kinda lost...ended up stuck in traffik at somethinmg called "the Boardwalk"...grimace.
Finally found Hwy One and followed farm implements all the way to the Monterey Peninsular... Cup o Joe at the Shell station and a piss and decided since it was now about 2pm and Monterey had no indication of the clouds burning off that the coast would be a gamble. So I hit the road to Salinas and slabbed it down 101...very nice. I cut across on 41/46/58 toTaft and then to the 5. Lots of nice roads. I really got to put the RT thru it's paces, and she came thru with alotta grace...even when I hit the Grapevine and the trffick was stopped dead for 3 miles...I split lanes (with the big bags) to the front whilst pissing off the LaLa Landers who where milling about with their car doors open and having a freeway fiesta...I admit I broke up the party revving the Remus and blasting the dual honkers...f'em. All in all, a long day and a 500 miler. Good thing is, Mama likes it too...
