Click and clack

A new noise from my 99 Manarin S...
After sitting several weeks, (see Assaulted battery posts), the front end has begun to click loudly when the handlebar is turned from lock to lock. Not every time, but often. I haven't ridden it yet, still snowed in. I put my ear down by the front suspension but I can't pinpoint it. SOUND familiar to anyone?

Hi,

If it something that showed up after sitting a while, and after a temperature drop, its a good bet that a cold-stiffened cable or wire run is binding and then releasing a bit somewhere. Fairing echos/reverbs make it tough to pinpoint. I'd seriously doubt its suspension issue, but who knows. Sounds are about the toughest thing to diagnose remotely. Wait for a thaw and some good elbow room and sunlight out of door on a warm day. Odds are at least even the problem will have fixed itself. My best guess anyhoo.

Yes, Roger...the noise has left the garage. Warmer this week, and I put all the plastic back on. (?!)
I will keep an ear out for it.

The noise is from the bearings or cables freezing/cold is no worry. I've got 2 new R1100S and a brand new K1200RS - they all make this noise when it gets cold.
