PLEASE READ - REGARDING THIS BBS AND WEBSITE

Hi there everyone. As you already may know, Pelican Parts has been in business and growing for the past three years. We have been self-financed up until this point.

Now we are beginning to look for outside venture capital so that we can expand our business model and this wonderful website. I'm working on a company profile right now, and I would like to solicit user 'testimonials' as to the usefulness of this BBS and this website.

If you like the website & BBS, your comments and feedback would be much appreciated by replying to this BBS topic.

Many thanks in advance!!!

-Wayne & Tom

Wayne & Tom,

I'm relatively new to BMW's, but not to motorcycles. I've also been around a BBS or two. Pelican Parts BBS is one of the best sites I have seen.

When I post a question I receive almost an immediate response. The responses are very helpful and often include links for further research.

The archives are well organized and easy to navigate. Best of all, the waisted bandwidth of personal messages, flames, etc., that is often present on other boards is missing.

Great site...Keep it up!

Hi Wayne & Pelican crew at large.

I'm an avid (some might say rabid) reader of and contributor to the Pelican R1100S list.
It's a GREAT way to share information and experiences and is in a much easier format to use than other BBSs I've seen and used. It's also nice to see a very largely flame-free, fun, but mature membership. In short, I love the format, style, and content.

As primarily a motorcycle person, it also introduced me to a great source of auto info. I've picked up a few parts for my aging Audi cage from Pelican and will likely do more when I dump the Audi for a Porsche.

As a final testimony, I own three marques of bikes and work on most all marques as a side business. It leaves little free time. Of all the bulletin boards available, this is the one at which I choose to spend that limited time.

Hope you keep it going, and thanks.

Hi Wayne,

Whilst not an avid poster as some, I am a frequent user and log in most days. The format is really user friendly for a non techno like me. The info and breadth of knowledge is really useful and informative. Like Roger I appreciate the mature content and humour (hi Malc), I really cannot be bothered to trawl through dross to get the info I require.

I wish you well, and thanks for you efforts so far in providing us with this valuable resource.

Regards, Martin.

Wayne,

I have been using the Pelican Parts BBS for BMW R1100S motorcycles since my purchase in 1999. I have found no other single source with the depth and breadth of information I find at Pelican Parts. I visit almost every day and each time find something new, whether regarding acessories, recalls, performance enhancements, or just others' experiences in the shear joy of motorcycling.

As an aside, I've also explored the other Pelican Parts BBS offerings, and am now in the process of looking for my first Porsche 911. I've found another community of knowledgable and enthusiastic people equal to what I found at the R100S BBS.

I want to thank you and Pelican Parts for taking the initiative to create a meaningful and creative forum for enthusiasists and novices alike. Much success in the future.

Regards,

JohnSorce

Hi Wayne&Tom

I've been around for a long time on the internet and your (or may I say OUR) BB is by far the best. The bull**** level is really low and we appear to have a lot of collective BMW knowledge.

Although I know you have to put a lot of effort in maintaining this site:
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

This BBS is no BS. It has been a wealth of info and I visit it often. It has a great format and I hope it continues for as long as I own my S. Jeff

Wayne,
I have been logging onto this BBS at least every second day for some time now. I have found the site to be very informative. I have not had many postings, mainly because all my questions are asked and comprehensively answered by members of this BBS.
Thanks for a great site,
Paul.

Ditto all the above. Incredible depth of knowledge, ease of use, speed of response. Understand it's extremely specialised, but could be just plain awesome if rolled out across a broader model range. Could become THE source of all enthusiasts (and ought to be vital viewing for the manufacturers too). It's definitely THE bible as far as the BMW R11S is concerned.

Wayne & Tom,

I think You have made an fabulous BBS. It's easy to use, and the content of the BBS is very usefull. I've posted a couple of questions, and I have always got good answers fast.

I've been connected to the internet from the late eighties when everyone used news groups (before graphical web interface era). Compared to a lot of news groups and other BBS, wich tends discuss everything else than the 'label' of it, I think this BBS has a worthy content. It's very usefull for a R1100S rider as me (far north), as I seldom see other R1100S riders.

Tips:
What about start collecting R1100S usefull links as an extra option to this BBS ?

Hope You keep this BBS for the future, thanks !

I've been on this BBS since very close to it's start-up. It is the only BBS that I participate in because of the great informational value that it provides. In fact, I probably check for new postings 2-3 times a day. We've all seen the other attempts at similiar BMW "S" BBS's that have unfortunately resulted in immature postings and flaming. This is a real intelligent and thoughtful group that always provides "real-world", useful information. I've learned 98% of everything I know about my "S" from this site - better than the dealers, etc. The boys at Pelican Parts do a great job of maintaining the site as it is always up and running. I can not remember the last time the site was down, which is more than some major corporations can say about their websites. Everyone involved should be proud of their achievements!

Safe riding,
Paul W.

Paul and Wayne;

I have been reading and posting here pretty much from the begining...The format and people that you get here come right off the top..information that is forward and smart..If you make a mistake..the people and the site correct you without feeling the need to flame you till you are burned to a crisp..

Keep up the great work and it is just to bad that this place was not here when i had my Porsche..Good luck in the furture.

I have participated in many motorcycle- and car-related BBS systems and have dropped out of all of them save this wonderful board. The Pelican site has positioned itself as a serious and flame-retardent source of information and it has attracted a membership of caring and open-minded indivuduals who I am happy to associate with. Than you.

As far as i'm concerned this site is a great source of knowledge for the "s". It's user friendly and it's users informative and helpful. Long may it prosper.

I don't have a lot of BBS experience but the experiences that I have had make me appreciate this one. It is very easy to use effectively. Also appreciate the mature attitudes expressed. I have seen some of the other boards, namely Buell and Ducati and was thrilled to find this one for BMW.

Count me as another satisfied user. I started out just reading, but very soon there was some topic that made me want to get in on the "fun". It was an easy BB to join and very user friendly too. I really appreciate that the members stay on the topics and do not "flame" one another. Thanks for giving us the forum to discuss our passion with people from all over the world.
