Getting rid of the ABS

My ABS quit working several years a go and I have liked the brakes much better since then.

I am now ready remove all that crap and install SS brake lines.

Any one else done it yet?

Do you simlpy order brake lines for a non ABS model or is there something else?

Do a search. There's lot's of info on that part it. All in all a fairly simple task to remove the servo-pump and associated lines. Be sure to safe off the wires individually as to avoid any shorts and the like. Shrink tube is good.
Let us know what you come up with for SS lines as I'll be looking to do the same. From what I've read here there are a few options to go with.

Did a search, didn't come up with much direct info for the change from ABS to standard.

Ripping the stuff out isn't a big thing.

Getting the right stuf back in is important!

Try setting the thread display menu choice to "the beginning" and searching "removing AND ABS". Lots of threads will pop up...

Delpel=1 - ABS =0

Removing ABS?

Thanks all!

I think I have pieced together enough info to make it happen.

Next question, where to buy the brake lines?

Galfer has a link on their site to Cycle Gear. I suspect that CG has a store near you, or you can do it on-line. i've had phenomenal success with CG in getting me what i want.

I've used these guys before for some of my other bikes, nice guy to deal with, good prices and quick shipping. I think he's out of Florida if I remember correctly.

Raven - I can supply either the Spiegler or Galfer lines. Personally I prefer the Spieglers. My wife has a non ABS S if you need any pics of the fittings or set up.

John B is getting me hooked up with all the right stuff, most excellent dude!!

Jeff, it is all yours. I'm not sure what failed. Never liked it anyways.

You still got the ABS on your bike?

Thunderhill is coming up, you up for it this year?
