Yeah, EZ it's lookin good. I could probably put a little more effort into the polish and get some better shots, but you can pretty much get the idea. I feel like going cruising on the boulevard tonight...
![]() I wish we had a sample of the black anodize finsh too, but we're just going to have to use our imagination on that one. It should be equally as stunning, but just a different look.

shreddr, yes I went ahead and increased the order by three extra sets of original style top and bottom clamps. As yet all three of these are available. The price is $500 plus shipping per set, which includes all stainless hardware and a new upgraded roundel from the R1200S. I'm expecting them to probably be ready by around the end of this month.
I had the bike out again over the weekend. Another nice thing I hadn't noticed last time was how steady and solid feeling the front brake worked with the new clamps. Absolutely no shudder or flex in the front no matter how hard I hit the brakes. Very nice.

Well you've got me. Any chance of purchasing a set for my 2004 R1100S? I'm interested in whether the feedback from the front end is equal, better or worse than stock. If equal or better then I'm up for the mod.
Other mods to date not in any order: SJ Filter SJ Intake PVM Wheels (got in on the group buy, thanks all for making it possible) Great upgrade Ohlins front and rear Terrific change in stability PC111 (Installed and mapped by John at DynoSolutions. Now 90 HP at rear wheel) Staintune pipes Scorpion alarm Short GS paralever arm (also great change in handling for little $) LSL rear-sets LSL clip-ons Tech-Spec tank grips (They should have the template that I made on file) Many Code school days and Spencer 3 day coming up in April. Love the way the bike handles on the road and on the track. Even the technical tracks like Loudon. Anything I can do to increase handling I consider worthwhile. So let me know about the new clamps. brent, nice setup on your bike. I'm curious about the LSL clipons. Do you have any pics of those?
If you ride the track at all you should see a big improvement in handling. Like you say, the bike already has a good feel to it and handles quite well in general. These clamps take the vagueness or rubbery feel out of the front end and turn it into a really responsive and stable handling chassis. For the track you will also appreciate the solid feel under heavy braking too. I'll stop sounding like a salesman and let others give their feedback when they get them on their bikes. ![]()

No close ups at this time. I'll capture some when it's a little warmer here in NJ. Too cold now. Here is a pic of the whole enchilada. Can you email me regarding clamp purchase. brent1rose@aol.com Thanks

Updated buyer list, brent1 has joined in. Juat a note about the finish. Mike had originally suggested a scotchpad brushed finish with a clear anodize. I am visiting a finisher tomorrow and will see what options look best. Another option that is commonly used is a light chemically etched surface to reduce irregularities and shine. I'll try to get some pics of sample finishes.
Here's the updated list: ![]()

Hey Brent1;
What type finish did you pick, can't tell from photo? Tech-Spec tank grips (They should have the template that I made on file)

I think it was the "Snake Skin" finish. They work really well and the fit and finish is great. They even finished it with their logo so it looks like it was made for the bike (which it was).
They guy I dealt with there was Dean. http://www.techspec-usa.com/index.html If they don't have the template any longer let me know, I'm sure I have it on file somewhere. I would love to know more about the 1150 kit you have. Maybe there is another post. Let me know. 112 RWHP I like that. |

shreddr, I revised the last list post and added you to it. Thanks, I'll post back when I get some more info on the finish options.

scott- remind me, if you will. what accomodation is being made for a steering damper on the lower clamp? i currently have a stock unit on mine (probably mostly kaput, but it does have that invisible-bling street-cred factor going for it..)

Bikerfish, I have included mounting bosses for the steering damper arm in the stock position. Everything will bolt up as usual and you can use your worn out damper just the same way you do now.
![]() The clamp sets are being worked on right now and should be done and in my hands within two weeks if everything goes as it should. Mike and I have been trying to sort out the prefinish details so that the parts have a nice uniform satin finish. The plan is to use a vibrating tumbler with a two step media to deburr the parts and give them the desired finish before anodizing. Then the silver clamps will be clear anodized and sealed and the black ones will have an architectural grade black dye added before sealing. They should look sharp. I already picked up $530 worth of BMW roundels and have all the hardware needed. Hang tight guys the wait is almost over.

---Triple Clamp Update---
Well, it's been a long time for everyone. Sorry for the huge delay in completing the tripleclamps. Mike has given me the official word that he will have the clamps ready and in my hands before March 30. This just happens to coinside with the first Triple Crown event at which no less than five of us will have our new clamp sets. At some point during the weekend event I will be installing triple clamp sets for bradzdotcom, Jeff Williams, tm1100s, Cyndy and myself. All other preorders will be processed shortly thereafter. I will be taking payments after I receive the parts via PayPal or other means. I just found out that Paypal will be charging me an extra $10 USD fees on every $500 transaction. So, if you plan to use PayPal the total will have to be $510 to allow PayPal/eBay to squeeze every last drop out of all of us. Other methods of payment can be Postal Money Orders or bank issued Cashiers Checks or even bank to bank transfers if that works out too. Anyway, start thinking about it. Ok, here's another issue that I've been sorting out for the past several weeks. The parts are to be anodized in either black or clear. However there are any number of ways to prefinish the parts to achieve a desired texture and surface finish. Typically, before anodizing, machined parts are either highly polished or textured in order to remove sharp edges and errant machine marks as well as provide an even surface finish on the parts. I decided not to go with a polished finish due to the fact that it will be highly reflective and could be distracting when the sun reflects directly into your eyes at some point. Also, a polished finish tends to be a little uneven depending on the buffer wheel action and shows fingerprints and scratches a lot more than a matte or slightly textured surface. After a lot of research into anodizing prefinish I was lucky enough to come by a manufacturer of some beautifully machined and anodized parts that was willing to share the details of his prefinish with me. Mike and I were on the right track but this extra info was what I needed to be sure I was going to end up where I wanted to be with the finish. The hot ticket is to use a vibrating tumbler with a sanded plastic tumbler media on all the parts for about an hour each to give a beautiful even matte finish to the parts. We are also going to be using architectural grade black dyes for the black clamp sets so fading should not be an issue either. Here are some examples of some parts in black and clear anodize that will be very similar to what we will have on our tripleclamps. Please look them over and be sure of which color you want to end up with. Everyone so far has made their color choices based upon computer images of the parts, but here is an opportunity to see similar parts that will have the actual finished look that you will have on your triple clamps. If anyone wants to change their color choice be sure to let me know within the next 5 days or so. Don't worry though both choices look awesome anyway so you can't go wrong with either IMO. All the following parts are manufactured by Acculign. A big thanks to Mark at Acculign for sharing his finish details with me.
