ya yer all pretty bright guys relatively speaking you know adult stuff, big kid stuff not low end low buck stuff that we accpet as the real thing, i know i know there are lots of media hurtles to get past and of course perosoanl driven types to convince us other wise.
Low impact big kid stuff, high end user type functions, you know, choppers, planes, cars, wineries, girl friends and other residences for convenience. We settle for far less at extreme perosnal risk, for what? why, time to step up lads and get searious.

here's what i know:
i refuse to encourage anyone to ride a bike....regardless of age. i also refuse to teach anyone. That's what MSF is for. i rarely give anyone hints/tips to make them go faster, though i have no problem if someone wants to follow me to learn stuff, or ask me questions as to why i ride like i do. on the other hand....i most certainly refuse to stop riding "cause it's dangerous". my biggest fear is to get too old to keep riding. i think i'd pull the plug if/when i got to that point. by the way, since this is a leatt thread....i talked to those guys about wearing the brace with a passenger (tracie was MOST uncomfortable having that rear tail "shelf" staring her in the neck). their response was: "we haven't heard about that before...good point...but ya know what, if you're wearing the brace and riding two-up on the street...it might not be a good idea. not to discourage you from wearing it, but if the passenger slams into the back of you, the rear of the brace is right at trachea height....and that might not be a good thing." other than that, sales of the brace are brisk, many/most of the pros are wearing them...and my whole objective was to sell just one person on getting one...and by my tally, 5 of them have been sold because of this thread......so i'm feeling pretty good about it. again: if anyone wants to try my leatt brace (like shelly did) on a group ride, please just let me know. i'm more than willing to spend the time to custom-fit it to your body and let you experience it for 100+ miles to see if/that it works for you. since we mostly ride twisty roads (surrounded by trees, rocks, ditches, boulders, etc) , and many of our excursions/mistakes turn us from "street dude" into instant "off-road guy", i believe that this little piece of protective gear is very valuable. i'm more than happy to answer questions/share my brace with anyone/everyone.

Good points BradBro, if you really must ride for some mystik fullfillment all facts being what they are in Ca these days, do encase yourself in some sort of portable vault system, you will most likely need it sooner than later.
Ask Stevo on the LA ride last year, uh huh.

Hello Brad,
Just thought I would let you know I just completed the 4 day Centopassi event in the Italian & Slovenian Dolomites (www.centopassi.com) wearing my Leatt Brace for the whole event. I had no problem at all with comfort in either the technical lacet & tornatti sections or the high speed runs. The brace was worn over full leathers and I also wore a backpack (which also functioned to keep the brace in place over the bumps) I would highly recommend this brace to anyone

Watched another episode of Epic Ride last night(on my DVR). They were riding atv's outside of Bishop, and outfitted everyone with a brace!

You may have already read about Chris Blais' (of KTM team fame) bad accident a few days ago ... it is noteworthy that he directly credits the LEATT BRACE for protecting him from even more serious injuries ... http://www.district37ama.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15895&page=7

LEATT brace in action:
http://midsouthmx.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=484 ![]() Luckily, he's going to be ok. I don't think one can simply say "I think it did what it was supposed to"-- he's very lucky. I don't think it was supposed to inadvertantly save the c-spine, but perform a highlander-style modification on this young rider's neck... Not trying to diss the brace, but putting it in perspective..... Flame on.
