…don’t know what to think of this ; just to modern, or something like that…

…yes, yes, yes : my color ; red !...

In city of Leeuwarden be sat down for some 'wine and dine'...

And while we sat there enjoying the sun, a ‘sleepboat’ came along, with a quite remarkable sound !

’sleepboat’ sound (movie 1)
’sleepboat’ sound (movie 2)

So ; I had a chat with the owner of that boat, and this sound was produced by a 20.000 cc (!!), one cylinder two stroke motor, pumping out and easy 35 (!) HP…

...and BTW ; a 'sleepboat' (of sleepboot) is nothing more, or less than a tugboat...

After another ‘few’ interesting kilometers, and cities, we took a pause in ‘Sloten’.
One of the 11 cities.

And also the end of this 200+ kilometer tour for (well..., most of the…) these oldtimers.

…us having a milkshake…

…and a group of Belgians (BMW-GS & RT people) inspecting our slightly modded RT…

We decided to take a walk down (or up…) to Sloten’s inner-city.

…narrow Sloten !...

…and with a bit of a ZZ-Top beard…

…did I mention ‘narrow’….??

…French car, Belgian plates, in Holland…

…somehow it doesn’t look old ; but this was a 1948 Beetle…

…old Army truck for sale…

…hey ; there’s that little Fiat again, the one with the anti-sun-roof…

And don’t forget all the bikes.
Four and two stroke.
We saw (for example) Nimbus, Indian, Harley, Zündapp, BMW, and of course our own Dutch Sparta !

...Dutch Sparta..

...MG...

wow…, 14.5 litre…

…boxer-Zündapp…

…and there´s that BMW again…

...spacious...

...and cramped...

…and owners enjoying themselves…

…former truck stuff…

…and impressive race like stuff…

…with a great looking wooden tail section…

…yep, red again…

…and very green, so it must be environmental friendly…

…this 1930 Model A Ford…

Well, to be short, I think we had a great day !
We toured away some 352 kilometers, and we enjoyed every single one of it.

It doesn´t always have to be winter to enjoy the province of Friesland…

Long have I wanted an 1885 Browning falling block rifle. They mostly disappeared before I made enough $$ to buy one. So after 40+ years of pining away, and after my 2 daughters b1tched me out for rifles that brothers got and they didn't, I used 3D CAD software to update John Browning's Low Wall design, and jewelry CNC mills to cut the investment waxes, and got the waxes cast in steel, and built my rifles.

Ron:

The sleepboat sound is wonderful! Thanks for sharing! Do you what fuel it is running on? Is it diesel oil?

Beautiful. Those are really something special! Did you also make the gun sights? Of course, I gotta ask, how do they shoot?

Sights are NcStar units. Holographic, zero magnification, sweat for these little rifles! The cartridge is .17 HMR, and out to 100 yards I don't think a squirrel has a chance! No serious target shooting yet, but wonderful plinkers.
