Steve got me into the camera bodies and Brock convinced me that lenses were just little incremental expenses... LOL!

Next project, nudge Craig into film...

Rapid, you were getting close to my neighborhood. You were way out of your hell and into a new one!
Did you enjoy the sandstorms? Ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! One of the tumbleweeds will take you out. Just like a deer. |
...CK, most dangerous thing I did was make a U-turn on 191 in the blinding sand, Indian pickups going both ways when I realized I was heading in the wrong direction.
Yikes! |

Baby bird fell out of the nest. Baby bird was far from home, scared and alone. Momma bird found baby bird and led baby back to the tree. Baby bird climbed back up the tree. Baby took a rest in the vee in the tree. So close yet so far; alas it was not to be. Monstrus magpie swooped in and in an instant, Baby bird was no more... Nevermore, nevermore... |
Damn magpies anyway!! Great shot!

Yes Dee,
Nature is cruel. I was taking pictures of the little guy with my telephoto and macro lenses as he progressed on his mission. He made it across the lawn, was at the base of the tree, and then was suddenly up at eye level. Tenacious little guy! So I had kept my distance and been photographing him when I turned to go in for a drink. As soon as I turned around this magpie swooped in and snatched the little guy up like a baby frog. I was severely bummed, watching the magpie fly away with it's prize... |
All the same, it had to have been something to see!!
|
F*ck*ng magpies.
I clearly recall how cool they seemed the first time I ever saw one. The awe faded quickly. Kinda like the first heavily tattooed guy wearing his colors on a Harley I ever saw. Same response. Both stages. Now that I think about it, they're both sorta felonious scavengers aren't they? ;) |
Always like "The Thieving Magpie"...

I borrowed a couple of photos from my bro-in-law's thread over on the ADV site.
Hacking Our Way Around Europe 2012 - ADVrider They are traveling in Europe and I just love these two bike shots. The mufflers on the Magni are beyond beautiful. Wish I was there too. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1336581448.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1336581467.jpg |

Richard, send us some shots of you surfing!
|
...what sort of surfing..?
http://peteandceleste.smugmug.com/ph...5_sSf7V-XL.jpg Oh sorry, that was cruising... |

I stick to pavement surfing. There are some great roads here that would be a blast on 2 wheels, especially on Kauai and Maui. As for cruising, more like window shopping for me, as I do not plan on getting un-married, after 33 years. |
...yeah you're right, she was young enough to be my daughter...*sigh*...
