Dogwood in Tryon

Bob, this is a great shot you took at the Tryon Bikehaus for me. I've always thought it was worth framing for the wall up there.

Bill, Bob, and Kevin coming on strong... Nice work, boys!

This is Capone. He's got 27,000 miles in the last year on the back of the Goldwing...

A fisheye view of Upheaval Dome in Canyonlands National Park.

The current school of thought is that a meteor strike 60 million years ago created this crater and killed everything within a million miles...

Oops! Here's some very recent information: http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/03/11/upheaval-dome-utah.html

Some pics from Tucson, AZ

Got a few pics from Tucson during my business trip last week.

The Santa Catalina Mountains have some nice pavement laid on them...

Nice pics from you as usual Craig (Chris?). I always enjoy your breath taking photography.

The Darwinian "current school of thought" is being challenged vigorously by Creation Scientists and is soon to crumble IMO. The evidence simply doesn't support any other conclusion except for the Biblical Account in Genesis.

That one made me laugh, Dan...! I like you... but sometimes you are just way to far out there for me to follow you!

Are you doing the GMR, btw.?

You know I like You alot too Ralf, and all the others here on Pelican so don't think I'm offended...it's alright. Oh by the way, the Institute for Creation Research (http://www.icr.org/) is in the San Diego area...one of your neighbors!

Right now I'm just starting to re-assemble my R1100S. In fact, I just got done torquing the five Flywheel Bolts when Wifey called me in for Breakfast. If all goes well I'll be back on two wheels soon with a freshly lubed Clutch Spline, new Rear Main Seal, new Spiegler Braided Steel Brake Lines, and new Wilbers Suspension.

GMR!...that sounds like a fantastic meet-up for Pelicanites. I'm looking forward to the post-rally threads already. Unfortunately I'll be sorting out my new Wilbers and making sure everything went back together before taking a longer trip.

I'll most likely be at the Illinois MotoGuzzi Rally lather this month..this is a good first Rally of the Year for us here in the Flatland. Easy to get to and very laid back. No Vendors, no Agendas, lots of good Food, Tall Pine Forest for Camping. A riding Buddy of mine from Muscatine, IA knows the good riding between here and there...lots of curves and hills...yes unbelievably in Illinois.

May 16 to May 18 23rd Illinois Moto Guzzi Riders Rally -
Location is nine miles north of Oquawka, Illinois on the west side of the "Great River Road" at "Big River Forest". $25 before May 1, $30 after at the rally. Make checks payable to: Illinois Moto Guzzi Riders and send rally fee to: Shelby Paschal, P.O. Box 264, Kirkwood, Illinois 98022. Questions: Stan Overstreet, 309-867-6705. Rally fee includes: rally pin, rally cup, Friday and Saturday evening meals, 24-hour coffee, cold drinks, hot showers and tent camping, and a lot more.

My wife and daughter #2 went out of town to visit daughter #1 at college, so my son and I escaped Conway today... They are having the Toad Suck Festival this weekend.... Would be a great place to get people images.. but that is not my genre, and I don't like crowds.... http://www.toadsuck.org/

We rode about 45 miles to Pinnacle park. It overlooks the AR. river about 80 miles south of the pictures I posted a few weeks ago from Petit Jean.... The flood waters are finally starting to recede back into the river banks...

On the steps of the observation platform was this little guy.. looks like he lost his tail...

Time to head back home.

Yesterday, my daughter tells me that a baby bird is laying on the ground in the back yard... So I take a look and sure enough.. looked to be only a day old.. no feathers yet.... So I used a clean cloth and picked it up and climbed up a ladder to put it back in the nest... Today I am out in the front yard washing the KTM and this Robin keeps following me around and getting very close to me... So I took its picture. Then it made a trip to the nest.. Not sure if the bird was thanking me.... of pissed at me for interupting natural selection??
