I got the cat out of my R12S in a few hours using a star drill and hammer to remove it from the open end of the pipe. It's not ceramic, but not that hard to remove using the meatball method.

Now that I think about it, I first drilled three holes with a long 1/2" HS drill bit, then employed the star drill approach.

... ...

…OK ; got the pipes-without-cat back from Mr. TIG Welder…
…think it looks good, with a bit more bling to it…

…will ‘throw’ the new, and improved (?) pipes under the S tomorrow…

RBMann 10-03-2008 01:15 PM

Now I am confused, table or deck?

With Bill following me around to correct my mistakes, I think I will go out and work in the garage. ;)

Ron is as anal about his grass as he is about keeping his bikes clean.

I don't know how he has time left to work. :D

shreddr 10-04-2008 02:57 AM

...I use an agenda... :D
...and 'yes' ; I don't have a life...

...btw ; the cat-less pipes are fitted...
...easy job ; maybe 20 minutes...

...and a great sound together with those dB-eater-less Lasers...
...by far not Harley-loud, but the sound is deeper...

...you can hear emptiness...
...and you can see this emptiness ; closing the throttle at around 7000 RPM gives a nice bang, together with a nice pair of 30 centimeters long blue flames...:cool:

...a rolling-road session will proof if it was worth all the trouble...

...but not today ; it rains... :(

Yeah, if your hands would be in the picture, Bill would say something about the state of your manicure... most certainly! ;)

signit98 10-04-2008 07:24 AM

...no, shreddr, that is the way grass looks over there... that's what rain and good yard work do! :D

RBMann 10-04-2008 11:08 AM

Ron-

I understand your passion. Out door dining.
