ez,

I have trouble remembering yesterday with sohrt term memory.

Whatever late 60s and early 70s Hercs were running at the time.

I still keep in contact with my mates from QANTAS.

One mate ended up in Asia and last I heard running Maintenance operations in Texas for one of the airlines.

Another runs the maintenance at Alice Springs.

So many have gone on and done ok.

Flew out at short notice to Malaysia for work yesterday , today has been hot and windy at home and a fire has broken out a distance from home but , my wife has sent me photos of the huge smoke column . and is reporting cold ash falling on our house , closer to the main village embers are falling , I am listening to the radio from home via webcast . The cars are packed with valuables and un replacable documents and photos , if the threat is upgraded they will abandon the house and leave it to take its chances .There are currently plenty of options for escape and they will go before these are threatened . Of course without me the bike will burn but thats what insurance is for , the irreplaceables will be long gone .

the current threat message for my village reads as follows

"The Muskvale Hogans Road fire, burning 5 kilometres south of Daylesford, near Muskvale (BU Map reference 495585), is burning in a north easterly direction and is estimated to have impacted on an area approximately 2000 hectares in size. Even though the fire is not currently posing a threat, the communities of Trentham, Little Hampton, Glenlyon and Porcupine Ridge need to be aware that fire activity in the area has increased and has the potential to impact directly.

The Trentham community is reminded that it is still only on alert. Although embers have been detected in Trentham a CFA strike team is positioned there overnight to monitor this situation."

not much sleep here tonight .

Congratulations Lennie. I have friends who have recently bought in Tassie & have been mulling over the opportunities of buying down there. House & land prices seem to be cheap, even for Tassie, & the diagonally opposed paradigms of credit crunch plus really low interest rates would indicate better things in the future.

as I said on the FRK thread, a R1200HP2s may be available from my dealer here and southbank in Melbourne have one.
