...any more ideas...?

# 1

#2

# 3

# 4

...my personal favorite ; # 2... (apart from the blue frame parts... )

...because it's the original BMW-HP2 design...
...and doesn't give the bike a 'heavy' look...

...if you guys have better ideas ; please let it know...

i woulld agree wth Cageyar, although you will really have the candy cane look going there. how about all red or all silver.

I speak as the proud owner of such a candy-cane paint scheme.

I prefer #2.

It provides an "arrow-go-fast-while-standing-still" look without adding a lot of weight to the bottom of the bike.

A decal may or not be required to break up the expanse of silver under the bike (or pursue option #4 as a second choice). I note you have used decals in the past to add flavor.

In my view, the expanse of silver in #2 complements the tail section above.
All the others risk taking the candy-cane look to the extreme, IMHO.
Notwithstanding the approaching season and its appropriateness thereto.

If it were mine, I'd start with #2 and progress to #4 if I thought it was absolutely required. Based on what I see, #2 gets the nod.

As you were, gentlemen.

I vote #1, but can you raise the silver stripe so it flows better with the seat? Keep the stripe the same width and make the rear silver portion wider.

Cheers

in the picture of the actual pan you posted it was showing carbon. how about just a silver stripe and keep the rest carbon? now that i look at it, i think you should leave it the way it is. there is too much red on the bike already.

I think every one that went on the tour of the HPE shop got the wrong impression of Chuck. I checked a lot of the customer feedback on “another forum” and every one seem really pleased with HPE especially their customer service.I will most likely have HPE install the headers.I will post up again when it is finished.

I think you are onto something with the red wheels-that contrast between the red/silver stripes and the stark black wheels never appealed to me. Paint the wheels red, mimic that HP2 format on the pan with a similar script R12S and recover the passenger seat-I can't handle the red main seat and black passenger seat-make them both red or both black. Just MO.

I'd probably go for all silver; With the real HP2 pan, #2 looks very good imo, but the ilmberger pan does not have the lines to support that scheme. I don't know, somehow the lines don't seem to really favor the red/silver colors.

.

...I'm pretty much sure, I'll stick to picture # 1...
...and with a only few (3) small black decals (as in : 'sponsor' stickers) at the end of the belly pan...
...and 1 small sponsor sticker in this red part of the pan...

Did you ever try it with silver wheels? I wonder how that would look?

its interesting to see the exhaust differences in that last pic. the HP2S unit is a lot tighter to the frame.

HPE update:

there have been a few comments about how poorly the carbon shroud fits on the HPE muffler, which I agree. I modified the mounting for mine which I think looks better. I relocated the holes about an inch back, which tightens it up to the body work, exposes a little more of the tailpipe and allows me to put the db killers in without removing the license bracket. what do your think.
