replace o2 sensor

question, can the o2 sensor be removed without having to disconnect the header pipes? manual does not indicate process, it talks about whole exhaust system removal reinstall etc

my o2 sensor is behaving badly, disconnecting it brought back the smooth (i know it not that smooth, just don't let the bike know) running machine it used to be.

so i need to replace it, still have the full factory exhaust.

Yeah, it simply unscrews from that bung. Follow it's wire, taking note of its routing, and unplug it, allowing you to unscrew the sensor without tangling the wire.

I removed my headers to approach the O2 sensor from the right side. Really wasn't a big deal as I was doing lots at the time. Not really certain I had to remove it, but made access to the sensor much easier.

Or jsut leave it unplugged. Cover the "bike side" of the plug very well so water can't get at it.

I'm confused - did you remove this, or replace this?
