Good luck setting up your CNC station. I'm still interested, let me know when you get your site up and ready to move out. I can get anodizing done, that's not a problem and I"m good with using preproduction runs pieces (to check out your programming).

I hope you're contemplating an R1200S version of the triple Scott. I'd be in line with cash up front if it happens. The one on your bike is simply a thing of beauty!

I found a nice cnc tool room milling machine that was used at a local college. It's about as basic as they come in commercial qualty machines. No automatic tool changer, no coolant system. It does take CT40 tool holders and has an air operated manual tool changer so I can have multiple tools set up and ready to swap in and out. It was as much machine as I could afford, get in my garage and be able to run off a 50A 220V breaker.

I have a lot more $$$ to spend and learning to do before I'm ready to make stuff. I also need to get a 3 phase converter installed and get the air plumbed. I'm so busy with other stuff right now, I can't really say when I can try making some triple clamps. But, it's definitely on the horizon somewhere

A CNC in your garage! That's what I'm talking bout! That's bad azz. If one of your neighbors starts talking sheet about his weed wacker or riding mower....just say...dude I can mill out a riding mower...lol. Very nice!

Wow, you just moved to the top of the list in the "Really Cool Toys" category!

I came to grips with my lack of mechanical aptitude years ago otherwise I would really be envious.

Enjoy.

Dearest Friend Scott~

Although it is a painfully long drive, I am totally planning to come out for your epic 60th birthday party next month. I am counting down the hours until Feb...um...24th?...comes closer, and am sleeping less and less, due to anticipation.

I have already picked out your present, despite the heavy financial debt it created. (that's what equity loans are for, right?).

Additionally, the Motoyoyo tattoo that covers my entire back will be finished in time for your event.

Both the dog's registrations have been name-changed to officially reflect motoyoyo1 and motoyoyo2. (#2 is having trouble adapting, but he'll get it).

Am awaiting verification of submitted paperwork to make you the beneficiary on my house.

Very much looking forward to being there!

PS: would you mind terribly if I also brought along a forklift and flatbed truck? I'd like to borrow your CNC mill for just a little while.

Regards,

Brad

This is one of those times where bar stock actually IS an appropriate birthday gift!

blocks of T-6061 would also look nice with a bow around them.

What if I have wrapping paper with the image of a bow imprinted on it? Will that do?

it'd better be a fairly large hunk of a-lou-min-e-um if you're gonna scrimp on the bow.
jeez sergio, who raised you anyway? get with the protocol dude!

Ha...I'm so far away from getting my act together on this machine, maybe a well stocked bar is more appropriate than bar stock at this point. Yeah, turning 60 and just now getting the equipment I could have used 30 years ago. Oh well, I never seem to do things the easy way, or smart for that matter.

I'm really doing this for mind training to see if I have enough brain cells left to learn anything new. I may have to sell a few dirt bikes to get the rest of the stuff I need to get started. Could use the space anyway. I'll let you guys know more about my big coming out (to play) party when I figure out what's going on myself
