2.7 to 3.2 Engine swap question 2003 986

I have a running 3.2 from a 2004 model Boxster S lying around so I figured it is time to do something with it. I found a 2003 Boxster that has a bad engine, but it is a 2.7. Can I use the wiring harness from the 2.7 on the 3.2? The 2.7 DME should get it running, but probably needs to be flashed to 3.2 eventually, right?

I am pretty sure you will not have to change any thing, the DME supplys fuel to match what the MAF sensor air flow detects. I rebuilt my 2000 Box "S" 3.2 to 3.6 liters in 2009 & have never touched the DME

Thanks for the info on the DME. Do you happen to know if a 2.7 wiring harness will work on a 3.2 of the same year?

I believe the only issues with swaps was if you had an E-Gas engine going in an early car (but there are ways around that).. you should be fine to put an 04S engine in an 03 base. Depending on use, you may want/need the larger brakes, additional radiator and 6spd from the S too...
