Question Convertible Top Window

I am new to the forum, and new to Porsche.
I just bought my first Porsche, a 2001 Boxster S.

The window is not very good. I have tried to clean it with the Plastic polish recommended, but still do not like it.

I have read on this forum about getting the window replaced for around $400.
Would that be through a upholstery shop or some other type of vendor? I do not know where to start.
Also, I have heard the plastic used in some aftermarket tops is much thinner than the OEM and cracks easier.
How can I be sure if I replace the window, it is the correct thickness? Does anyone have any suggestions on what to look for or what to ask for when getting this done.
Thanks is advance for your help.
Phillip

It is a pretty standard grade of plastic used in the windows. I've replaced a few in my shop and they have come out well.

You should be able to compare the material being installed with what is being taken out of your car. Never noticed a difference in thickness.

Hint Don't open or close your top when the temp drops below 50 degrees.

Thank You.
I called a local today and he told me the same. Said he had done 2 Boxsters last week. Quoted me $350, so all seems right with the world again. I just feel like I am looking through a dirty pair of glasses when I look out back, especially at night.
Thanks again.

Cool Pledge

Pledge Rocks.
I tried the suggestion Brad sent and it made a world of difference.
I used the Porsche cleaner and wore my arm out with limited results.
Then I used the Pledge treatment. Rub it on and OLE, clean window.
Thanks for the suggestion.
