power window problem

I have got a 2001 boxster 2.7 which has a problem with the passenger power window.when you lock the car up and return a couple of hours later the passenger window will be fully down, doesnt happen all the time usually overnight but has gone as long as 5 days without doing it,also when the window has gone down sometimes the car will be immobolised until you get the window to come up by repeatedly pressing the switch, been in the main dealers now for nearly 2 weeks, had the alarm controller changed ...no help....everybody seems to be a bit lost
....any ideas?

Check the wiring going to the window regulator for a short.

I would suggest the window switch for starters.

Followed by the two position switch in the convertable top

You had it to the dealer - what faults were recorded by the alarm system?

Ive swapped the switches and had the s/w in the roof in bits but seemed ok,changed the battery nil help
the dealer has had it for two weeks now ,they found fault codes for the immobiliser...which is why they changed the alarm controller, but didnt fix the problem...also found some arcing behind the ignition switch but again didnt work..the next step they are trying is to clean the earthing points....seem to be clutching at straws
one other point... never happens when driving
