Top problem...help

The motion of my top is rather jerky going up on the driver's side. Anyone ever see this before? I'm hoping I can fix it before it becomes a real problem and kills my top. Thanks guys

You probably need to replace your cab top cables.

Do a search on the forum, it has been covered a few times.

I had a very similar problem, and fount that the connecting rod that snaps to the frame popped loose. In fact the ball that it snapped to had worked it's self loose. I've since reattached the ball, and resnapped the clip. and the top works fine. The only thing it that the white plastic ball is loose, and had to be reattached several times. It's best to order a new rod.

Looking more carefully, it's actually the top cover, not the top itself that shimmies on its way up.
