TPMS sensors for $171

I have had some intermittent problems with the tire sensors over the last 6 months on my 2008 Boxster. Finally about 2-3 weeks ago I had the continuous warning light and all sensors were off.
My solution: I ordered a set of four sensors from oewheelsllc.com , including shipping I paid $141 for four sensors! My local tire shop charged me $25 for installation and with a $5 tip I ended up with a grand total of $171 for four new sensors installed.
No more error messages!

I understand there are different identifycation codes for the sensor/transmitter/reciver combo. I was told there are six different ones. How did you identify yours, in such way they are compatible with the receivers on the car?

I ordered the sensors based upon my make, model and year. There are different frequencies for boxsters, some use 315MHz others 433, as far as I know you just need to get the right one for your make and year. If in doubt you could pull just one sensor and verify the specs on it. I had no trouble just ordering the generic Titan sensors for my model year. If you have concerns you can also buy the OEM beru sensors, a set of four will cost less than $400, a fourth of what some Porsche dealers charge. I think there are some artificial mysteries created that are supposed to force you see the dealer. I went through that with our daughters SLK, Mercedes wanted to charge close to $400 to replace one sensor. I did the same thing on her car and paid $5 to get a generic tpms sensor installed and have not had a problem for over a year now.

You can call Titan tpms at 1-888-249-2688, they should be able to help find the right sensors for your application.

Or call oewheels at 18662733651. They have the best prices, a set of beru sensors is $312, the Titans I bought were $136 + $5 shipping

This is great information. Looking at the Titan site for my year Boxster, you can buy either the 315Mhz or 433Mhz sensors.

Anybody know if a Durametric can tell you the frequency you need without pulling one out? Or can the dealer tell you?

Thanks a lot.

^^^I called OEWHEELS and they recommended to call the P dealer with the VIN to get the Mhz info...

Do you still have the 356?

Heh... I wish I did! It was a gorgeous red coupe and when I think of what I sold it for back in the late 1970s, I almost cry.

Thanks for the info.

FYI, I checked with the dealer and he didn't need the VIN... according to the parts guy, EVERY U.S. delivered 2008 Boxster uses the 433 MHz TPMS transmitters. I didn't check other years, however.

Wow... memories... mine was a near duplicate of yours. I had the earlier hubcaps, but that's nearly the only difference. Even the same color.

Makes me sad to think of what it would be worth now!
