I have a 1997 Boxster automatic with tiptronic with about 60K on it. When starting and driving all is well, but after the car warms up, if I stop at a light, the car kind of goes into neutral and the gear lever becomes stuck, not moving in any direction. Once the car is cold, it drives fine again. Any idea what can be causing this and what to do to fix it? there are no noises from the transmission when it drives and the engine and transmission respond well to hard acceleration.

Sounds like either a shift cable adjustment, or a possible engine/transmission mount issue. Does the shift indicator on the dash flash between neutral and drive? I have seen that once where the shift cable was too tight, and pulled the car out of drive, then the shift indicator light on the dash would flash next to the D, and the car would still drive, just the indicator was flashing. Let me know how it goes.
