I own a 2000 Porsche Boxter. Soon after I purchased the car, the onboard computer display light went out I was forced to rely on the left and right guages for info speed, RPM, etc. One morning, my left tires traveled over the road growlers those running along the yellow lane lines and the display returned and operated as it's suppose to. Later that day, the display went off again. So now, I can't read any of the readouts unless a bright sun is behind me or if I shine a small light on the display window. The OBC is working as it should Distance to empty, outside temp, all the other functions it's supposed to perform, I just can't read it from the driver's seat. I thought one of the fuses controlling the instrument cluster may have gone bad, so I replaced all of those. Still, no dice. Solutions?

Likely a faulty display or the connection is no good. Start by checking the electrical connector to see if it is properly attached. Then check for fault codes to see if any are stored in the unit.
