My 1998 boxter passenger side window does not drop when either the inside or outside handle are pulled, but I can hear sounds in door like it's trying to drop. I cannot push the window down so I don't think it is the regulator. Could it be the inside and outside door handle switch that is faulty even though I can hear sounds in the door when the handles are pulled? The window switches open and close the window with no problems and no unusual sounds
